    Well pressure
    I have a waterwell that is 740 ft. the house will be 700ft from the well. Question is , how far can I be from the well and still have pressure for a 3/4 bdrm, 2 bath house

    Figure a loss of about 0.43 psi per foot of elevation. You will need to know if the well head is above or below your house elevation to calculate that. You can see that a gain of 30 feet in elevation will cost about 12 psi. Of course, since your pressure tank will, I assume, be located at your house, then that is not so significant.

    I'm not as familiar with pressure loss due to distance, but the second site below has a pressure loss calculator which is easy to use. The bottom line seems to be don't plan on running 1" pipe 700 feet to your house. 1.5" seems to be a more likely way of doing things. I am using 20 gpm as the figure for volume. But again, I am relying totally on that site. Try it and see what you think. Others may have an answer based on better experience than mine.
