TEXAS. RESIDENTIAL .change of ownership the tenant is not binded and has 60 days to
I rented a property six months ago and signed a one year contract. I have had several problems with the landlord. One week ago he sold the property to another company. Someone told me that when there is a change of ownership the tenant is not binded automatically and has 60 days to decide or exercise his option to stay or leave the property without breaking the lease; so there would be no negative comment on his credit report or rental history...

Please Guys HELP!! Need to know if the above is true and if possible the source where said statement came from so I can take it to the new management office..

    Thanks in advance,

Check your lease. Most leases have a provision that states that if the property is sold... the lease travels with the sale.

No, both the tenant and the landlord are bound to their lease. Just as the landlord has to honro the lease you also have to honor it.
So you said you had touble with the landlord, now you have a new landlord, are you expecting problems?
