    Steam Heat radiator clogg.
I have a Steam Heat system, one radiator will not heat up fully, only the right half gets hot, the release valve is on the left half. If I unscrew the valve during heating, pressure is released. Why would only half work? If it was clogged, wouldn't steam NOT come out of the release valve?

    Thanks.

Yes, I have steam pressure. The furnace is cleaned and serviced every year. I never had the water ways cleaned, I never thought that was a option. The furnace is actually scheduled for service on 11/13, I will ask about the pipe cleaning then.

    Thanks!

Actually water treatment was always used by my shop. Helps to stop rust and corrosion.

You should never do a drain and replace. You need a auto blow down installed if you want to do that. Every time you add fresh water you add more minerals and other (nasties) to your system.

The conditioner we used came in a 55 gallon drum and not sold in smaller bottles.

I only drain and replace about 20 gallons, one the dirty water runs clear, I refill up to the corect level.

    Thanks for the advise.
