Wiring a furnace thermostat to manually operate the furnace fan

I have two wires connected to my furnace thermostat. There is a place labeled G on the thermostat. Can I simply run a wire from the G terminal on my thermostat to the terminal labeled G on my furnace fan relay to operate the fan separately?

Greetings, I have an Intertherm M2RC furnace running on LP. I tried to start it up a couple of weeks ago, it ran for a second then quit. The furnace is getting power, but the red LED indicator light is not lighting. With cold weather just a couple of weeks out, I could use some help. Thanks
