    Thermostat is broken
I have a Kenmore electric dryer that recently quit heating. I bought a new heating element for it and my husband was going to replace it on Saturday. He took the two wires off the thermostat as instructed on a repair site and marked them, however, when he tried to remove the thermostat, it broke. I bought a new one, but we need to know if it matters which end is up. Is there any way to tell how to put it on exactly so we can hook the wires back up correctly? Thanks

The thermostat will work no matter what wire is on which terminal...

However this should be a learning experience -- draw a clear picture

Of wiring before removing it -- short term memory -- BAD
