Really, what are the defining events/changes/people/stuff that has happened etc in the last 3 years that have shaped who you are today?

In the last 3 years, I have turned into an entirely different person
I feel like my actual claim to sentient thought and intelligence came not at birth, but later in my life, about 2 or 3 years ago when I actually really began to THINK
Like yer, I always thought, but any true depth, compassion, conscience, has emerged mostly in my opinion over the last few years
Before then, I was a vastly different person
Some influential people in the last few years have been
My grandma
My friends who I made a few years ago when I came here to w.a
(they brought musik, and much more into my life, they got me interested in music and without them, my life would be gray and dull, without musik, there would be no me, I cannot imagine an existence without it)
My church (so much of my growth has been in a few years in that church)
And, most recently, from the most unexpected place, the internet, I have made many special friends on this site, and in other places, who are vitally and deeply important to me and have been a huge help in my life

Id mention events that have shaped my life, except, I don't believe that events shape lives.
Its how the ones whose lives are affected by those events react to the events, whether they learn or repeat the mistakes, reject it or accept the blessings, etc
Well, its your life, and you and your special friends shape it and affect the lives of others
I would love to hear in as much or little detail as you are willing to provide, the story of the last 3 years.

Unfortunately, over the past 3 years I have remained my old grumpy self. That is what happens when you get old Cal. Ya just get grumpier and more set in your ways. I am thinking of putting in an electric fence around my property to keep everyone out. Especially my one friend.

Okay, enough of my prattling on. I thought I would post so that it would give your thread a bump and motivate some people to respond to your query. ;)

By the way, just wanted you to know that I saw your pic on the members thread. I don't know why in the world you think you aren't attractive. You are a very cute kid. Don't you know that women go gaga for men with blue eyes and dark thick hair? Don't be so tough on yourself.

Lost a long term girlfriend and now got a new one.
Other than just heaps of fun and lots of travel.
Went the Football world cup in Germany last year. That was probably the highlight!

Three years ago, I turned thirty and man, I got this one little whisker that just keeps coming back under my chinny chin chin! It has made me a better woman! LOL
Sorry Cal... turning 30 was big for me, along with the grey hair and the oh geeze, three years ago...
