Do washers and dryers deteriorate when left in storage for 4 years? If so, what problems might I expect?

I am looking at a Kenmore portable washer model 110.42722200. Owner described it as used 7 months and kept in storage in the basement for 4 years. What would be possible problems with it from long-term storage?

    Thanks for your kind assistance

    Probably nothing, but...

    Washers:
    Replace the hoses

    All:
Any rubber part may have dryed out including belts, if any.
Critters could have made nests in them.
    Rust on bearing surfaces.
    Corrosion.

Corrosion might cause leaks with a washer.

It mainly depends on the environment.
