    No Signal
My daughter was playing her SIMS 2 Game all day, later in the day she came off computer, left Sims still on screen, when she went back an hour or two later it had all gone from the screen. When she tried to put monitor on again it came up no signal. We tried rebooting computer but each time it cmes up no signal.. We have tried another monitor on the computer ad the same happens so it is not the monitor.

Any help would be appreciated as I have one unhappy daughter as this is the only computer in the house with enough memory to play the game.

    Regards

I hope that will teach her to close everything down when she leaves the computer.

No signal means the computer has shut down, not the monitor. Hard to know what the problem is with the computer - could be a failed hard drive. Has it been noisy?

What operating system are you using?

This could be numerous issues. It looks likes you've already established it was not the monitor.

Are there any beeps when you try to power on the PC? If so, we need to know how many because that will identify the problem. This is most likely a hardware issue, but before you start make sure the wires are hooked up properly.

However this could be bad RAM, faulty power supply, bad CPU or motherboard. I would start testing the RAM. If you have 2 RAM sticks, try powering your PC on without one and if it loads you know its RAM.

Hmmm sounds like the computer is in a continuous. Your right it's not the monitor it's the computer. I have had this happen a few times because I download a lot of sims 2 stuff. My suggestion when was the last time you rebuilt your desktop or defraag'd? This may help with this issue and probably others that have crept up.. also try cleaning the disk and making sure there is no dust because us simers leave our disks in all the time sometimes we forget it gets dusty in there.. Hope my suggestions help..

Just built a new system. Pretty sure most of the specs are irrelevant except that you should know it's onboard video. So far the best I can come up with is that it's a faulty motherboard. Basically what happens is... nothing. I hook everything up, power up the computer and... nothing. Nothing...
