    Service Animal
So I heard that I could get my chihuahua trained as a service animal. I was wondering how and where I could get this done and what the cost would be... :D

Start at http://www.iaadp.org There are also private trainers, but I don't know how to find one in your area. The schools are much more professional and produce better dogs. They are charitable organizations and do not charge for their services or at most, a token amount. In some cases, they require hour participation in fundraising. Your state vocational rehabilitation agency may have contacts too.

I was recently surprised to learn the school my Holly belongs to breeds Chihuahuas to train mostly for the hearing impaired.

Are you interested in training your chihuahua to be a service dog and be partnered with someone in need, or are you interested in training her to be a Pet Therapy Dog in which you will be taking her to Nursing Homes and Hospitals for visits? If you are thinking about Pet Therapy, the Delta Society specializes in that and they have partnered with a few organizations in Washington State. Please look at this link and scroll down to the organizations in Washington. You will need to contact them for more info. Delta Society - Pet Partners Affiliate Groups

If these places are too far away, you can ask them if they know of any groups closer to where you live, and/or you might want to do a search to find your local Humane Society and/or ASPCA, and call them. Usually they know of the local groups who do this kind of training and work. Your vet should also have information on those groups as well.

I misunderstood your question, thinking you wanted the dog to assist you. I am glad RubyPittbull understood, and gave you a good link.
