How do I file taxes for my FAFSA now because I need them by December?
Okay, the title is self explanatory. I need to file taxes due to me being a independent student. But, I missed the deadline for the e-file. I need to have the money and such by December so I can pay for my room and board.

    Please help!

You need to go to your financial aid department at school if you have not done so already. Chances are you are out of luck since the deadline is now, if I remember correctly, June.

You can file your taxes via the mail.

A mailed tax return will get processed, with the refund direct deposited into your checking account, in about a month to six weeks. Same for the state tax return.

Once you have FILED the tax return, you can use those figures for the FAFSA.
