    Dachshund Unresponsive this morning
This morning when I woke up I went into the living room and found snickers out 2 year old dachshund unresponsive. He would move his head and wag his tail but that was it. I rushed to wake the boyfriend and we both thought that he had hurt his spine. We called the vet but he wasn't in till 9. We had to wait for 2 hours but in the meantime snickers improved. He sat up and immediately went to the bathroom and starting moving around. By 8 am he had been moving and was getting back to normal but kept biting himself and itching himself all over his body. By 9 he was back to normal but we took him to the Vet to figure out why he wouldn't move his body at 7 this morning. The vet had told us that his legs had fallen asleep and this is why he wouldn't move this morning. Has anyone ever heard this before? Has anyone ever had it happen?

You might be shopping for another vet. I don't remember a dog going from that bad to better that quickly on its own. I suspect the problem will be back, and perhaps not go away on its own.

How strange! Didn't the vet take any x-rays of his spine? I agree with labman. I would be looking for a second opinion on this. It may be the beginning of spinal problems and I would be very surprised if this didn't occur again.
