4 yrs ago me and my x-bf broken up with 2 children, his name isn't on the birth certificate but he made me go with him to the lawyer to sign a paper saying that I have the kids during the school year and he has them only for the summer and that I can't ask for child support from him. I sign the paper because I just wanted him away from me and leave me alone because I he was very abusive and I was afraid of him. But now I build my confidence and I'm not scared of him no more. But my question is that... we signed the papers when I lived in philadelphia but now I live in Washington state as well as him.. I moved to seattle so he could help out.. we made a agreement on our own without lawyers invovled that I drop them off to school and he picks up until I get off from work but he would give me a hard time by not picking them up, other things are like I ask him that the kids need school supplies or clothes etc.. but he would just give me a hard time so I just buy it myself.. but how could I make him help me or should I go after him for child support? I hate to do that to him but I give him many chances for him to improve.. there are many things besides this, I feel he endager the kids by leaving them home alone or going gambling and letting the kids sit alone while he gambles.. how do I go about child suport without my children going with him?

You need an attorney to determine the legality of what you signed and to see what you can do to formalize the custody and support.

I doubt it was "legal" at all, and I am surprised an attorney would do such things. ( well maybe not) But visitation agreements and child support is not formal unless it is signed off by a judge.

Get an attorney, stop talking to him about it, and get your rightful support
