    Civilization began in Iraq
What is not pointed out in the media is that American schoolchildren learn that civilization began in Mesopotamia, where people first sowed the land and lived according to a written code of law.

The Iraqis are a gifted and great people, with an ancient culture. They, like people everywhere, deserve freedom from tyranny.

That two decades ago Iraq's history effectively stopped and became little more than the story of one man's brutal pursuit of power. But the Iraqi people can now look forward to a time when they will be able to renew their national story and recover their own identities — as a free nation and a free people.

    Some interesting facts about Iraq:
    1. The Garden of Eden was in Iraq
    2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
    3. Noah built the ark in Iraq (not Evan Almighty, the real Noah)
    4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq
    5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq!
    6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq.
    7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq
    8. Jonah (from the whale) preached in Nineveh, which is in Iraq
    9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
    10. Amos cried out in Iraq.
    11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.
    12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq!
    13. The three Hebrew guys that were in the fiery furnace (along with Jesus) were in Iraq
    14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the “writing on the wall” in Iraq
    15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq.
    16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq
    17. The wise men were from Iraq
    18. Peter preached in Iraq
    19. The “Empire of Man” described in Revelation is called Babylon, which is a city in Iraq
Israel is the nation that is most often mentioned in the Bible. But do you know what the second most mentioned nation is? You guessed it….Iraq! However, they do not use the name Iraq in the Bible, they refer to it as Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia. Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly, between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.

Interesting post Dark Crow. But you know that most American children, as with schoolchildren in all countries, are always given a slanted view of history. The history of a nation is dictated by the governments currently in power. I remember well what we were taught about American history when I was in school. No mention was made of the atrocities that certain pioneers and military forces put the native American people through. When I was in school they were called Indians. (I know I am dating myself here).

The Garden of Eden was a place in higher consciousness. The people that traded that higher consciousness for human free will found themselves in a bleak and barren place.
But if you say it all started there then I am comfortable in saying that it will all end there.
