    Gas Furnace Sensor Problems
I live in an apartment that has a gas furnace. Periodically the furnace stops working. The gas will kick on and cut out. My landlord has had several people to fix it. They come and clean the sensor and whatever else. Then it works fine for a while and then the same problem happens again. My landlord said that there is something that is going through the cold air return and clogging it up. He changes the filter every 30 days or so, but the filters never look really dirty, so I am at a loss as to what I am doing that is causing this problem, as the landlord states that it is my fault. Please help me.

Have you closed a lot of returns or are you blocking them? How about the outlets. Like closed off a lot of rooms?

You are not to blame, some times dirt or other particals may plug up the orifice on the induced draft blower assembly( this is where a small tubing connects to the housing) and blocks the air flow to the pressure switch, this in turn shuts down the furnace. Cleaning this orifice will help your problem. Good luck, Mike
