    Losing time with children
I am new to this site, and was wandering if anyone had some information on joint custody and how it changes when one parent moves out of the county.

    Hello the:

Well, it changes a LOT - A WHOLE lot. If I was the parent who ISN'T moving, I'd be in court THIS MORNING trying to stop her. If he does that, the judge won't let her go.

If there is a custody agreement in place, especially with a visitation schedule, and the move prevents that visitation from being exercised, it affects the court ordered agreement. A judge would have to allow such a move, the parent can't just up and move.

I can't see how it would change anything IF the child/ren and the CP stayed and the NCP was to move.

Without more information who is moving and if an Order was in place we really can't answer correctly. Scott & excon jumped to the fact that you were speaking of the CP moving away with the children, honestly so did I at first, but that may not be the case.
