    My rights
    Giving up my rights to my child. Do I have to pay child surport if I give up my rights to my child.

    Unless someone is willing to adopt the child, yes you do.

    Parental rights and parental obligations are not the same thing.

    A. You cannot give up your rights unless the mother is in agreement

    B. if you give up your rights, you are still responsible for child support

    C. if the mother has someone willing to adopt the child in your place, then you can agree to give up your rights to allow for the adoption.. once the adoption is complete you will not be responsible for child support.
