I've heard from my friends the sleeping though the night thing can come and go. However, you know you child and what is normal for him. Has his day time activity level been lighter the last few days?

Yep, sleepping through the night will come and go as babies/toddlers bodies age. Could be teething, could be dreams and he requires soothing to get back to sleep. Developing ear infection is another possibility.
