    Floor insulation
I've recently purchased a bungalow, had contractors in to insulate loft and walls, the only thing I find the floors which are concrete are rather cold even with carpet and underlay, any suggestions as I don't want to go in to underfloor heating as I find it quite expensive.

attach sleepers on the floor 3/4 or use 2x4 the 1 1/2 way or turn it up a full 3 1/2. either of these will give you some room to install some type of insulation. Whether it be foam insulation or r 13 bat insulation

this will require you to remove all you existing floor to do this, but just about anything you do at this point will have the same starting point of removing the floor
