    Car payments
I have a vw bettle that is in my name only, I have carried this loan for another person, who now is being late with payments, but does not have credit, evey month I have to play this game with her to pay the payment on time, she has decided on her own to pay them direct can she do that when the car is in my name? They have accepted 2 payments from her directly. I just want out of this mess.

Yes she can. Is the car in your name or just the loan? The only way out of the loan is for her to refinance and pay it off. But if the car is in your name, then its your car.

The car and loan both are in my name. She moved and I have asked her to give me her new address she refuses. In June the car was insured by her , but since she is always dodging my calls about the payement I have little faith. The payment is due the 14 th she informed yesterday that from now on she would be paying directly to VW on my account and that I could check online for the payments.

Most insurance companies will not allow someone to insure a car not in their name. So I'm wondering how she got it insured. BTW, hiw did you find it she insured it?

Since the car is in your name you can report it stolen. I would tell her to refinance or you will take the car. Even if she pays it off, its still in your name.

Quite often, insurance companies write auto insurance incorrectly for someone who states "it's my car, but doesn't have proof of ownership with them at the insurance point of sale. Proper sufficient evidence of ownership is either a title or state registration document. In this particular situation, if I were the registered owner, I would purchase my own insurance and to assure that the premium was paid, I would either 1) pay the premium myself or 2) have the premium notices. Cancelation notices sent to my address. Anyone can pay the notes on a loan, for that matter I could pay or I am sure that the lienholder would accept payments from anyone but it it were my obligation that I signed for and if I relied on someone else to pay, I would want all late notices, etc sent to my address to assure the loan was paid and my credit was protected.
