    Mother Board USB
    Can I remove my IDE Hard Drive on a PC, and in its place use a Thumb Drive (ONLY) ?

    I have a 16 GB Thumb Drive and would like to it to be the ONLY DRIVE in my PC.
    ( I need some kind of IDE to USB connector adapter, I think? )

    I have searched 'forever' on the Internet, and can only come up with 'Adapters' that
    Permit you to use and external IDE with an Adapter to USB. This is not what I want.

    Any help sure would be appreciated. Thank you,

    What you are talking about is a solid state hard drive.
    Yes it is possible, but to be honest I'm not up to speed with the tech.
    As long as the motherboard USB is enabled on boot, i.e. NOT driven by the OS then it should be possible.

    I know that Vista can use onboard USB drives in this manner for faster booting times.
