Default judgement from 2003 by apt complex in GA
In early July 2003 I rented an apartment. Immediately following I lost my job and suffered a nervous breakdown. I was hospitalized for 4 days. I did not have the funds to pay my rent. I was evicted while in the hospital. My apartment was cleaned out by friends while I was in the hospital and I was released from the hospital with instructions to live with family or friends until I was mentally and emotionally stable enough to live alone again. My apt was emptied as requested by the apartment management. Cleaned and empty by the requested date on the eviction notice taped on my door.

I recently discovered through being denied credit that I have a default judgement placed on my credit from this apt community for nearly $10k. I never received any notice however the court doc say that a private server was sent and a mail was sent to the apt which I vacated.

I live in GA. I have doc from the hospital showing I was a patient and for how long. I have docs showing that I was severely depressed and suicidal and that I should not live alone.

I cannot proceed with my life with this judgement.

I've never been contacted by the apt complex about this at any point.

    What are my options?

    Hello A:

The only hope you have is getting the judgment overturned. The only way that is going to happen is if you make a motion to the court to void the judgment due to improper service. (Did you leave a forwarding address?? )

I think you need a lawyer to do this for you.
