Moving an outside telephone wire on house
    Good Morning!

I would like to know if I can safely move/adjust my telephone wires on the outside of my house. A storm brought down a tree, which pulled the pole tightening the lines.

NStar adjusted the electrical. Can I safely move the phone wires a bit?
    Thanks

You should call the phone company and have them adjust it. They own the wire right up to where it enters the house, so it's their responsibility to fix any problems. If you manipulate the wire you may cause a problem either with the wire itself, or the connection at the pole, or the connection on the side of your house. If the phone company sees unauthorized changes to their plant they may come after you to pay to set it right.

Having said that... there is no physical danger to you in moving telephone wire - just take the usual common sense precautions (make sure to stay away from the electrical wires).

Beg to differ with the preceding post. Call the phone company and let them take care of the work. Once you cross the line in the demarcation box, its all telco after that.

You get caught up a pole or moving a cp (connection point) you could end up with serious problems with the utility.

Both of the posters are correct, don't really see much disagreement. Once the telephone wire reaches the TNI box on your house it becomes your responsiblility. The Telephone Network Interface box and all wire running to the pole belongs to Ma Bell so don't play with it.
