    New motherhood
I had unprotected sex about 3 weeks age. Me and my boyfriend were trying to have a baby. I am on birth control but I didn't take it the day we had sex and I haven't been taking it since. Now its 3 weeks later and I didn't get my period. I did get a lite period about 1 week after we had sex. Is there a chance that I can be pregnant?

There is a chance, but more than likely your period is off due to stopping your birth control. The only way you will know for sure is a pregnancy test. Take it one week after you missed your period with first morning urine.

When you are having sex, there is always a chance that you could be pregnant.

But, I would most likely said this is due to you stopping birth control. It will take awhile for your body to produce hormones at the right levels without the assistance of birth control pills. During this adjustment time your period can be irregular in flow and length, you can miss periods or get more than one in a month. Once your body levels out... you should go back to having a normal period.

But to be sure, definitely wait 4 weeks from when you had sex, take a HPT using your FIRST morning urine.

First off, didn't you say you were 16? Say this out loud: Am I ready for motherhood? I would take a test or go to the doctor. If your not sure, I really would read a book or two on motherhood and trying to conceive. Also, you should start taking pre-natal vitamins and folic acid 3 to 4 weeks before trying to conceive. Good luck, and take care of yourself. :)

You had sex, so its possible. Its not probable because you stopped taking the pill the day you had sex. The pill doesn't wear off that fast...

Educate yourself a bit more before you make such a serious change in the course of your life.
