    I need heat!
I have decided to replace my vent free fire place with a wall mount natural gas space heater. Also, after some renovations, I have found that the heater must have 6" of clearance on both sides for safety precautions. In order to comply i need to extend the supply line approximately 1' to 1'1/2" in order to place the heater on a different wall. Any advice on how to extend the gas line would be great!

    Thanks for your time,
    Laura

Hopefully you are using a gas line covered with a yellow plastic sleeve, right? The safest thing to do to get another inch is to add a 2" pipe bib. Your supply line is probably already attached to a short bib or fitting. Remove the existing bib and install a longer one, don't use galvanized pipe.
