1. I am wiring for a future bath and kitchen in my unfinished basement. Can I put the kitchen outlets only and bathroom outlets only on the same GFI protected 20 amp circuit or do I need a separate circuit for each. I am limited on available places to add additional circuits to by main panel.

2. Do the shower light and/or bathroom fan need to be GFI protected?

Kitchen are to have 2 circuits, plus frig(seperate). You can have 2 recepticles on each circuit. If more than 1 foot counter space, you need a receptacle.
Fan and light in bath don't need to be protected.

The kitchen and bath cannot be on the same circuit. As Strat mentions, min, 2 circuits for the kitchen counter, and one 20 amp circuit with GFI outlet in the bathroom.

Any shower light or fan will need GFI protection if required in the manufacturers instructions.

I had recently installed a Super Quiet(.3 sones)fan, with built in humidity sensor for automatic operation. It required GFI protection, it said so in the instructions, I shouldn't assume yours didn't. Thanks for the correction.
