    Summons Re Credit card debt & Judgements - can they take my car?
    I received a summons regarding a credit card debt a while back. I filed the Intent to Defend, and I am now waiting on a response. If they win a judgement against me and I cannot pay -what will happen? I do not have a checking account or own a house (it is solely in my husband's name), and we are still paying on my car. Will they be able to take my car? We still owe about $7000 on it.

    Any joint assets they will try to take, if you work they will garnish your wages. They cannot take the car since it is financed and is security for the loan.
