    Hot water times
How long should it take for hot water to get to the sink in the 2nd bathroom, with the PEX ( I think that what it is) pipe run in the slab of the house? The pipe is 3/4" and the distance from the hot water heater is about 65 feet, and the house is one story.

The cold water in the hot line must be run out before any hot reaches you. Four factors enter to figuring ln long it will take. 1) the line pressure, 2) the length of the run and the line resistance , 3) the head(vertical distance) that the water has to climb to get to the valve, and 4) the opening of the inlet port of the cartridge or seat. How long does yours takr? Regards, Toim

This is a brand new construction... and this is just the first part of the plumbing problem. The plumber ran a line from the hot water heater ( 80 gal electric) to the 2nd bath about 65 ft away in 3/4" pipe and back to the kitchen about 30ft closer to the hot water heater in 1/2" pipe. All fixtures in the house are Delta, and it takes about 2 1/2 minutes to get hot water in the 2nd bath and about 4 minutes to get hot water to the kitchen sinks. The flow from the fixtures is 1 1/2 gal per minute and the pressure seems to be good.
