    Broken lease and no way out
    My daughter leased an apartment in her name, got married, separated in 3 months and now has found that she can no longer pay the lease that she owes until Feb. what can she do?

    Hello s:

    She can offer a few months rent in lieu the lease. Hopefully, the landlord will go for it. Otherwise, if she leaves he'll sue her for the balance. Yes, he has to rent it as soon as possible to mitigate her damages. But, that might not be real quick.
