    Puppie trainning

I read the information on trainning puppies to potty outside and it said to get a crate to put them in do not let them run around the house alone.I know that's a good idea what do you think about a section of the house to stay in while your gone and what about when your at home do you let them wonder the whole house

The "shut the puppy in a safe room" is a fallacy. Very few houses even have a
Safe room. How many of us have a room with a hard surfaced floor and nothing
Else? Most rooms have electrical cords to chew if nothing else. In addition
To destroying anything a bored puppy finds to chew, it may choke or have
Intestinal blockage from the pieces. I had a friend that left her dog in a
"safe" room. It ate a hole in the floor covering. The safe rooms fail to
Give the dog the comfort of the enclosed space their instinct requires. Nor
Do they restrict activity extending the time the dog can go without relieving
    Itself.

If when you said read the information in training puppies you didn't mean the sticky starting at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post251802 You should read it now. Post back with any details you need help on or other questions.

Our house has a fairly open floor plan down stairs. We do keep the puppies in the one large family room/kitchen using a gate on one doorway, and the crate to block the end of a hallway. I have located my computer desk where Ican see a puppy at the back door out of the corner of my eye. The more time you have the puppy loose, but where somebody can watch it, the faster housebreaking will go.
