    What make is it? Some computers require you to use a recovery disc. Other computers, such as Dell and HP, have a built in feature that allows you to reformat without a disc. It all depends on what make your computer is. Consult the owner's manual.

    I posted a link at the bottom. It will give you step by step instructions on how to restore your computer to the factory settings. I've done this on Dells before and it's pretty easy and doesn't take much time. Make sure you have any important files backed up.

    Why do you want to reformat? As goddard indicated, it would be better to use your Recovery disks to return to factory settings.
