I received a stock certificate from my Mother's estate. It is for 24 shares of Wisconsin Central Railway Company. Does it have any value?

A quick Google search turns up the following:

Wisconsin Central Railway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Seems it has been bought out by Canadian National Railway back in 2001, for $17.15 cash per share - see the following news release:

CN - News - Canadian National Agrees to Acquire Wisconsin Central in Merger Valued at US$1.2 billion

My guess is that the certificate has no value now, but I suggest you call CN investor relations to check at 1-800-319-9929.

Believe that Wisconsin Central Railway had earlier merged into what became the Wisconsin Central Transportation Corporation. The Certificate is dated Jan 6, 1947
