In the last 12 months, I am averaging a sinus infection monthly. The symptoms go away after 3-7 days and then reoccur a few weeks later. Often, I notice a few white patches on my left tonsil around the same time, or right after, the symptoms occur. Often, its my left sinus that is the problem too. Should I be concerned?

Several possibilities.

1] The treatment that you have taken may be wrong [ the bacteria may be resistant to the antibiotic you took and no antibiotic works against a virus ] or may not have been taken long enough - sometimes it takes 2- 4 week.

2] this may be allergy related - and that should be treated

3] Your immune system may not be able to clear this up due to such things as smoking or diabetes or a defect in your immune system

You should see your doctor and perhaps have a plain x-ray or cat scan of your sinuses.
