    220 Voltage how do I figure the amp 100 or 200?
    Hi
    I am a realtor and I have a buyer that wants to know what the amps are in a residential home. The voltage is 220 but I can't figure out the amps. This is a transaction that I am currently working on and it sounds like the amps is the deal breaker.

    Look at the first big Main breaker after Meter, That should be your service capacity/size.

    Here is a sort of conversion for you:

    q. A food mixer with a 400 watt motor runs in the US on 120 volt supply.
    What fuse to fit?
    a. 400 / 120 = 3.33 amps. A 5 amp fuse would be OK.

    220volts doesn't tell us much. Yet, I can assume you are looking for the service amps. If so, then Strat has a good answer. Yet, if the breaker doesn't have an amp stamp, then you can check the inside panel cover for it's rating. If that's missing, then the safest way to get your answer, is to have someone take a look at the service.
