HELLO,

I have a problem that is really becoming serious. My mother passed away two years ago on September 26, 2005. This is also my younger brothers birth date. I was taking care of my mother and before she passed I promised to take care of my younger brother after she passed. Since then I have taken him into my home and have done everything I can to see that I live up to my promise to my mother. But things are not working out right, this is not a teenager, but a 48 year old who has never really lived on his own. He has a full time job and promised to pay 1/2 of the rent and utilities when he moved in but so far has not met that promise. I am on disability and can not afford to keep him. I have explained this to him, but he in no way tries to do anything to help himself. I am worried, he stays after work and drinks, and the problems here at home are increasing. He is bring me down to the point where I just want to take my pills and end everything and let him fend for himself. Neither of us have medical insurance to seek counseling and I am afraid if nothing is done to help us either he or I or both will end up dead! How do I get help for both of us before it is to late!

It's your home and if he doesn't want to abide by the rules then make him leave. I'm sure your mother would understand you having to do what you have to do considering a 48 year old man is acting like a child. It's not worth giving your life up for. I think you should give him an ultimatum. He's an adult.

Sounds to me he is playing a quilt trip on the promise you made to your Mother,48 and can't live alone and pay his own bill's need's to get a life and let you live your's There is No one worth killing yourself over,
