    Inhertiance Money
I am not yet legally divorced. I've been separated for over a year and taking care of my 3 children by myself so money is tight and haven't been able to file. My grandfather passed away last month and I'm coming into a good amount of cash. I am starting to get paperwork started for divorce/custody but its not filed yet. Can my ex husband get half of my inhertiance money?

Well, depending on what state you live in, technically, yes. He does get a share. Why? Because you guys were still legally married. About 3 years ago, I had a car accident. EVERYTHING was in my name. My car, insurance and the wreck. My (then)husband had NOTHING to do with it and he still benefited from my settlement money. Both of our names had to be on that check and both of us had to be together when it got cashed and I live in Indiana. Good Luck. Hopefully the laws are different where you live.
