Ok so I really really like this guy that I work with, and I definitely think he is interested also... At least I did... Hes really shy at work, and then one evening we were texting and I brought up a song we both like-Cary Brothers Blue Eyes- and he said he thought my eyes were amazing, and that they were the first thing he noticed! Naturally, I was ecstatic! I am usually very shy as well, but after this I decided I would step up. I asked him if he wanted to get a drink after work and he said yes! I didn't want it to be just us, so I had a friend come, and looking back that was probably stupid... He knows her and we all work together, but it would have been more one on one time for us... We still talked a lot, and there were only a few awkward silences, and I could tell we would have been OK even if just us two... My friend even commented later that she could see the chemistry there... But now Im confused as hell... I asked him a couple days later in a text if he wanted to come watch a show with me that we were both anticipating, and he said he couldn't because of school work... Thats fine.. I get being responsible... Then I said, OK well maybe we can go to a movie later in the week, and he said he was honestly going to be having a really rough week with school, but hopefully if it wasn't as bad as he was thinking, we could do that... What the hell does that mean? I can't decide if that's just a sort of nice way of saying I don't really want to, or if he really is overwhelmed with school, and hopes we can catch a movie... I know I over analyze everything... I can't help it... I just thought I sensed the same feelings from him...

Then i said [texting] OK well maybe we can go to a movie later in the week, and he said [texting] he was honestly going to be having a really rough week with school, but hopefully if it wasnt as bad as he was thinking, we could do that....What the hell does that mean?? I can't decide if thats just a sorta nice way of saying i dont really want to, or if he really is overwhelmed with school, and hopes we can catch a movie...I know i over analyze everything.....I can't help it...I just thought i sensed the same feelings from him...

It could mean that maybe he doesn't know how bad the week at school concerning the work there is going to be for him yet. And, that he will let you know once he finds out. But, that is only a guess on my part. I haven't spoken with him.

Why not ask and discuss it with him in person or in a phone call about doing something together? Texting can be so impersonal. Plus, not all of the necessary information may be exchanged between the two people who are doing the texting. Texting is a much slower and inadequate form of communication as compared to that of communicating in person with your voice in some way. You could possibly avoid some guesswork by speaking to him rather than texting. No one hear can do the guessing for you. That would be wasting people's time and further adding to your angst. Please speak with him somehow.

Also, if the two of you work together, then I would suggest proceeding very cautiously about having any kind of relationship other than that which involves work since the two of you do work together. I would hate to see either of you put your jobs at risk because of things that might happen in your relationship that might develop.

Do you really want a relationship to exist and be based upon what happens in the course of electronic texts?
