Bellybutton piercing
Hello!
I really want to get my bellybutton pierced this fall, and am really excited to do so! My question is, does it hurt that bad? I mean, I cannot take pain, shots make me almost faint, but they don't even hurt, but I get myself so nervous! Has anyone here had their bellybutton pierced? Does it hurt? What does it feel like? Thanks!

Well it doesn't actually feel "good"... you are getting a needle stuck through your skin!
The good news is that it is over pretty quickly.
Make sure to tell your piercer that you get faint easily, that way they can have you lying down instead of standing (which most piercers do anyway).
Just try not to psych yourself out about it.

Hello.
I experience it in December. Just practiced pinching your bellybutton, that what I did, I just feels like A pinch it's over rather quickly though. Hope it goes well for you:D
But the next few days are tough so be prepared for not very much action.

I have both my upper and lower belly button pierced. The lower one hurt a lot more since there's more skin. I had the top one done when I was 14 and it really didn't hurt at all. There's probably going to be a little bleeding here and there but just remember to clean it everyday.

It is going to hurt a little. But just try to relax. It will hurt for just a second. The place I got mine done he had a numbing spray he put on it afterwards. Just make sure you keep it clean, because if it gets infected it hurts!

Heyy! I have mine done. At first I couldn't get it done because I didn't have enough skin. But then I did it when I could. It really didn't hurt.. it feels a lot like pressure but not really pinchy feeling. But, Mine bled. And some jewels can be rather uncomfortable but it's really easy to take care of

I got mine pierced December 28th 2010.
My sisters both had there's done years back and got infected, however mine hasn't had any problems yet. I also prepared myself for it by pinching my belly button, and for me it hurt less than my ears, but I do have a relatively high pain tolerance.
Mine didn't hurt the next day at all, in fact it still doesn't, the only time it really hurts is when I knock it with something really hard or when it gets caught on my tops. Otherwise I am able to carry out all the activities I did before I got it pierced.
I also recommend that you drink water afterwards and make sure you eat beforehand. (: That's what I did (:

I've had mine done three times as I had to let it close up twice due to different reasons. The first time it was not too bad at all. A slight pinch and a little discomfort but it only lasted 10 seconds max from start to finish and it was over. The only time it hurts is when you've had it done before and it has to go through scar tissue. That makes 5 times worse haha. Good luck!

It depends. Different people have different pain tolerance, for me it hurt a little bit, it's a needle going through your skin! But it only hurts for a few minutes, or a couple seconds! If your in any sports then I would suggest putting a large bandaid over it so it doesn't get ripped out. Also it does hurt for lime the first week or a couple of days, and it hurts to sleep on it a first!

It doesn't hurt that bad just a little pinch but be careful the first couple weeks you have it pierced don't sleep on your stomach cause that hurts and it can cause your piercing to migrate. Also get a barbell not a ring for it to heal in it will be a lot less likely to get caught on something

I got my bellybutton pierced about 7 months ago. I was told it was going to hurt, but I laughed when they stuck the needle through. I don't know how high your pain tolerance is, but it wasn't bad for me at all! Make sure to clean it often!

I don't have any piercings, but I frequently have an infection inside my bellybotton. When I go to clean it out I can feel some discomfort all the way down my groin. Could it be a symptom of something else (prostrate, etc.)?
