2001 Ford Escape - Electric door lock mystery
I have a 2001 ford escape, it has electronic locks and it seems like they have a habit of locking/unlocking randomly, I'm guessing that they should automatically lock after I start driving the vehicle but sometimes they don't lock and then after awhile they do, this can happen in my driveway or at the store and when driving. I'm thinking that it might have to do with alarms located in businesses and stores that trigger this random occurrence but I'm also thinking that there is a simple solution to solve this and get the locks working properly. Any suggestions?

I had this happen in my 2004 F250SD, it even happened at the dealer when it was in for repair, locked the echanic out until they used "master" key to get in, they could find no codes, no cause, they suspected it was a "short" in one of the wires and since it was not under warranty anymore it would take a 6-8 hour repair at $95 and hour plus parts, I opted for the aggravation and did not lean on doors when driving and ALWAYS had seat belt on, so uless your mechanically inclined in wiring for autos, grin and bear it I guess like I did
