When working with standard deviation and variance does adding or subtracting 5 to the score affect either one of these?

To one score, or all the scores?

You may want to create a fake (but small) dataset of 3-4 items and try it out. Use the grades 75, 80, 82, 91. Then compute the SD or Var and then add 5 to one (or all) of the numbers to see if this changes.
