I have an employee who was injured on the job. She is on salary. Do I have to still pay her even though she didn't work her scheduled time? She was given a doctors excuse to stay home. Kirsten

Depends on your policy. If there is a policy for sick days, then yes. There may also be some laws in your area governing sick time. But the general rule is you pay for work done.

She was injured on the job - so why isn't that being cared for by Worker's Compensation? As far as you paying her salary, she may feel you owe that to her, since she injured at work. But you may not be. Check your policies, contact your company's attorney and see where that leads you. If she has sick leave coming or comp time or paid leave coming to her, then draw her pay out of there.
