My borrowing her money was wrong?
Ive been feeling guilty now for over 4 years. At first I thought #1 I'd pay her back and #2 if I didn't what's wrong with me using her money. Now, here is my now 22 yr old daughter. She made this money 20,000 dollars when she was modeling up to age 1st grade 8 or 9 yrs old. I invested the money which grew into 50,000 dollars. At age 16 she bought a brand new car with 25K so the balance is what I took when I became desperate. My wife had had a stroke and combined with 6 month of rehab not being on top of my business, retail my situation became critical. I emptied my bank account and my IRA when I felt I still needed more time I dipped into her money and then when I told her, well that's another story. I tried not to tell her because I really didn't feel good about taking the money and if I replaced it soon as I thought no one could get hurt. Well its one of the things now 4 yrs since I told her ,that we have next to no relationship. I really think that her age of 16 and me having raised her gave her everything and now in my worst nightmare and ashamed that it came to this should be so harshly judged by everyone in my family to the point my mom has disowned me.

Well think of it this way - how would you feel if your daughter went into your bank account and stole $25,000? That was her money and since she was still a minor you were supposed to be holding it for her not spending it for her.

I have to agree with Glinda here. Its tempting to use money that is within reach, but doing it without her knowledge is wrong.

You said borrow... DID you pay her back or are you any where close to being able to?

My mom owes me over 1000 dollars and you know what? I wouldn't even care that much if she just told me she needed it. She just took it one day, as if I didn't no, I had a stack of 20s in my drawer, so it would have been easier to just say "Chris, im sorry but i am short some money, i have tried other ways but i don't where to go, can i please borrow some money?"
