    1996 GMC Jimmy-high pitched noise
I have a 1996 GMC Jimmy. When the vehicle is moving I can hear a high pitched noise emanating from the front of the vehicle (it sounds like it is coming from the both the drivers and passengers side wheel areas), however, it immediately stops when I press the brake. What is causing this noise?

More than likely you need new front brakes.

Brake pads have attachments called "squealers" to let you know they need replaced.

CaptainRich agrees: Correct accurate answer. You should however create your own account and post your experience in your profile

Yup, he is going to create his own account... he was bascially messing around on mine to see what it was all about :)

But his account will be coming soon... complete with ALL his experience as a mechanic (mostly on GMC's).
