    Trying to conceive
Hi there I'm new to this so please bare with me. I have been on the pill for about 8 years and stopped taking it in April this year as my husband and I are wanting a baby, we have been trying for the past 5 months and nothing yet, how long does it take for the pill to leave your system before your body is right to fall pregnant?

You were on the pill for quite a while, so it will take quite a while to get back to your natural hormonal state.

Now, it takes most healthy women, who have never used birth control, up to a year, and sometimes longer, of actively trying to become pregnant.

Do you know your ovulation cycle? Do you completely understand the complexities of ovulation and fertilization?
