    Sewage/septic tank?
    Hi,
I have a camp site accommodating 300 people and the sewage is leaking
Can you please advise on how to fix problem
I was thinking about maybe building a primary hole and then a secondary hole for the overflow(if this is the right way to go) and was wondering how large the holes dhould be to accommodate the number of people (300)?
    Thanks!

A 1500 gallon septic tank will hold the waste for 6 people long enough for the bacteria to break it down into a liquid state and carry the liquids into a leech system to percolate up to be evaporated or down into the earth. You are going to need an 'engineered system' [r] or a sanitary sewer system to handle the volume. If you don't get it professionally done you will enable serious liabilities and the epa will not play nicey.

A primary hole and a secondary hole??

Do you mean containment units that help filter the waste, and will go though severa stages before going into an approved water discharge.
This will be a large and somewhat expensive project and will require a enviomental engineer along with an environment study and most likely waste water discharge permits from the state.

Also if you have "leak" issues, you may be in violation of several discharge laws and be subject to fines, penalties, and even cvil action of land owners in the area
