    Kitchen Island - Adding Granite
I removed the existing cabinets and I am installing an island in my kitchen. I bought the cabinets and I am having a company install the granite. The island will be 3 feet by 8 feet with a cut out for the range in the middle. There will be a 1 foot overhange on the living room side for a couple of stools. Do I need to anchor the cabinets somehow before they install the granite? I am wondering if the granite will make the island top heavy. Should I be building a frame?

Slab or tiles (12 x 12)? Yes the cabinets should be in place. What is your plan for a substrate? How are the floor jsts. Good luck.
