Can somebody tell me What is wrong with my car?
:confused:Hi!!:D
okay here is what's going on with my car situation. I really have absolutely NO money at all, i'm trying to save for my wedding next May, so i there is this dealership that is by my mom's work. (i'm 19, if that answers any of your questions) So i asked the guy to fix it up because i was interested in buying it. So he did but when i drove it, i came to a stop and then the engine sort of revs up, i have no idea what is going on. My mom says that she doesnt think its a good idea to get it..i know it sounds really cheap to everyone but i am really poor right now, he's only asking $2700 for it and its a 1999 Mercury Cougar. Please help. i know nothing about cars or anything..anything will help! thanks so much!
Its not at the dealer place yet, they had to fix something with the exhaust. Its in the shop right now, i just know the guy that owns the shop..maybe that will help..i dunno i dont know what to do!! AHH

No they did not fix it, may be a transmission issue, I would say stay away from it, but if you 'have to buy it" take it to a shop and have it checked over first.

Bad idea. This car will become a money pit. You have no money, so, you need a car with most bang for the buck. Search the papers for a civic or corolla within the 2700$ price range. Look for one that has been pampered by the previous owner. (they're out there, trust me) You will get so much more car than you are currently searching.

Yes, since a car requires license and taxes when you buy it, you will have to keep insurance on it, so with no money, there is no way to even get a car to start with.
But one that is not running on the dealers lot will just be more and more problems.
