    Always cold
Hello, I'm 25 and I'm always cold, my doc told me I have raynauds disease which is when my hands and feet go white and numb when I'm cold then bluish/purple thenred and burning.. then back to normal once I warm up.. but I am also anemic I get tested every 3 months and usually end up on iron supplement for about a month or 2... is raynauds why I'm always cold or is it the anemia?.

Hi I have reynalds as well. It is caused bad circualtion, your blood vessels constrict prevent in blood (and warmth) from getting to your extremities. It won't be why you are cold as such but it will heighten the effects of the cold.

Have you tried walkers handwarmers yet? They are these weird plastic pauches with a chemical inside which stores heat. You 'charge' them by boiling them and releases the stored heat by cracking them. I found them to be very useful- here is a site so you know what I mean. Grabber Mycoal Hand Warmers

The anemia will not be helping matters as it will be preventing you from efficiently using your energy stores making you feel colder. You should try to alter your diet to get the amount of iron you require through it as I know how rubbish iron tablets make you feel!

Try to eat more dark green veg and red meat if you can. Also drink more orange juice the vit C helps you absorb it. http://www.mothers35plus.co.uk/iron.htm

Other than that it is best just to not let yourself get cold - easier said than done I know! Drink lots of warm drinks (but not tea it prevents the absorption of iron) I like lemon in hot water - refreshing as well as warming.

    Good luck

Always cold? [ 6 Answers ]

New mains shower, reasonably new Combi-boiler, but hot-cold-hot-cold-hot-cold shower! [ 4 Answers ]

I've recently had a new bathroom put in, with a mains shower (used to be electric). But now my shower keeps running hot-cold-hot-cold every minute or so. My bath tap and sink tap in the bathroom are running fine, it's just the shower. I was told this shouldn't happen as I have a combi-boiler but...

Cold Air Registers Blowing Cold Air [ 3 Answers ]

Our cold air registers are blowing cold air worse than if the windows were open. The hot air registers blow cold air but not as forceful (maybe because they are 1/3 the size of the returns) This only happens when the furnace is off and we are heating with the wood stoves. We have metal ducting...

Cold in NM [ 1 Answers ]

We have an Inertherm furnace that has been working fine until it got real cold. Now it comes on and stays for less that 1/2 minute, while it's on it blows cold air. If you re-program the thermostat several times it will eventually come on and stay for longer period. Yesterday it finally started...
