99ford f150 air intake manifold removal
Please talk slow and use small words.

I tried to remove the air intake manifold from my 99 f150. I removed the 9 bolts from the top and anything on the sides that I could find. The unit would not budge, like it was welded on. What did I miss?
I need to get it off in order to deal with injection wiring on # 3 eaten by pack rats. There is not enough clearance in the wire harness to access it otherwise.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There's often on Fords an Upper Intake Manifold (UIM) and a Lower Intake Manifold (LIM). Even after removing all the bolts on the UIM, it's still connected to the Throttle Body, plus PCV hoses, etc. I can't recall now what it went to, but one is almost a 1" steel pipe.

Once you reinstall the UIM/LIM, be sure to torque the bolts in the proper sequence and amount or you'll have problems afterwards. Buy a Haynes or other manual for the specs.
