I am building a bathroom in my basement. I installed a maserating pump (SaniFlo Plus) system. I avoided breaking concrete so I built a platform for my shower. The shower sits about 13 inches off the floor. I would like to know the best way to set the shower base so that after many uses it does not move. I was thinking about using thinset or maybe liquid nails or some other type of adhesive. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Tell us more details about the shower base, like is it fiberglas. If so modified thinset would do the trick but it must be absolutely level so you may need plastic spacers or a leveling kit.

I bought the shower base from home depot. It's a standard base nothing fancy. Not really sure what it is made from.

It is likely plastic, that's what I've seen in stock at HD. You can buy plastic leveling shims in their flooring department and modifed thinset should be one or two aisles over. You want to shim the outer edges , I sometimes hot glue them in place until I get it true and level. Use a goodly amount of thinset and put one or two bags of concrete inside the shower base for about two days. This will help the base to make good contact with the thiset.

Right now I am dead on level with my platform, and shower base. Do you think I still need the plastic shims. What do you mean by modified thinset.

If you are dead level then skip the shims. Modified thinset should be almost on the same shelf as thinset. The modified part is that it has been given a more elastic, gummy consistency. It is similar to paste rather than concrete.
