Yes, avoidance of eye contact, not liking to be touched, sensitive to new sounds, people, different environments. The inability to adapt to changes. Hand Flapping, excessive head banging. Avoidance of human contact, and there are others. However, you should contact your pediatrician or local school district for an assessment testing to be done.
There are many different reasons for a speech delay besides Autism, and early intervention is the key. My son had speech and language delay, but he is not autisic. I was able to get him enroled in a program through the local public school and today he is in High School, with no problems. Good Luck!

I have a 7yr old daughter with autism. Very sig signs I wouyld say I noticed in her was suddenly at about 24months, she started avoiding eye contact, stopped responding to someone calling her name, delayed speech of course, her mumbling stopped and they do not mimick anyhting, very indifferent, if they get hurt for example, unless its really hurting them they won't even cry or make a fuss. They slip into "their own world", repetetive motions!

My daughter is much better now with speech, she will still not sit and chit chat with me. She is enrolled in a special ed full-time school. EARLY INTERVENTION is the big key.
